It was established in August, 2004, with its main office located in Shanghai, China. Even though the company is young, its founder and executives are healthcare industry veterans having many years of experience in technology, management, and business operation in both United States and China.

Sunfire provides consulting services to healthcare (medical device and pharmaceutical) companies in business operation, technology/market development, and management. Sunfire's main focus is to help Chinese healthcare companies to enter the global market and, vice versa, to help global healthcare companies entering the Chinese market. In particular, Sunfire helps the its clients establishing quality systems/cGMP, obtaining FDA market clearance or China SFDA market permits, and consults on marketing and clinical trial strategies and execution.
